Pastor’s Corner: Grateful for the Gift
Easter Mission 2023
March 27—Last week we were blessed with the presence and inspiration of Father Robert Lacombe, a gifted preacher and hard working priest who spoke to us of the Gift of the Eucharist and the presence of Our Lord in our midst in this most wonderful Sacrament. Many thanks to those who joined us for the Mission nights and to Bryan and our choir who closed out the Mission on Wednesday night. How fitting that we use these nights of reflection to prepare for Holy Week which really begins with the Last Supper and the Lord seated at table with His disciples for one last time before He heads off to His death on Calvary. It was on that solemn night, with the cross looming large, that He thought of us to give us the Sacrament of the Priesthood and then the gift of the Eucharist, His Body and Blood as “food for the journey.” Each weekday and every weekend we celebrate the Mass and reenact that sacrifice on Calvary so that we can be nourished and strengthened by His holy presence. Thank you, Lord, for the gift of the Eucharist with us until the end of days, and thank you for the gift of our friend Father Lacombe for inspiring us along the way. —God bless and have a great Lenten week five! —Father Bob Marciano
